About me
2018-10-23I am currently studying mathematics, pursuing a Master's degree. Previously, I have obtained Bachelor's degrees in mathematics and informatics. In addition, I have graded numerous assignments and worked as a teaching assistant.
Interests
-
My interest in mathematics is mainly in the general area of algebra, number theory, algebraic geometry, but I also enjoy category theory, topology, and, depending on the specific subject, functional analysis. Also, though I do not know a lot about it, I think the mathematics of origami and other folding problems is quite fascinating.
-
Challenges like Project Euler or programming problems like HackerRank. Such challenges were what first got me interested in mathematics, then mostly elementary number theory.
-
Programming language design, specifically, strongly typed languages with an expressive, possibly static, type system, e.g. Haskell, OCaml and other dialects of ML, Rust
-
Modern operating systems, i.e. Redox, high-performance microkernels like L4, or security oriented systems like Ethos
-
In addition to the above, I greatly enjoy reading, both non-fiction and fiction.
